30% of a weight of a hummingbird (birds of the family Trochilidae) are made up of two flight muscles, some species are able to produce ~200 wingbeats per second, and their heart rate exceeds well over 1000 beats per second.
In Mayan beliefs hummingbirds were believed to be messengers of the god of Sun. Personal associations include fragile knowledge and, hmm, various fluttering thoughts, things that can be perceived but not thorougly analyzed without destroying them. Ok, believe or let be. Might happen that you've noticed me incorporating hummingbirds in my drawings before?  This used to be a greeting piece for a friend, but I'm glad that it has transcended that limitation and am thankful for the attention this piece has received  Watercolour and lots of masking fluid on a pencil sketch. Pardons, if it's messy, this was one of those pieces that felt done before they were technically done  I'm kind-of happy that it came out so warm |

We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you  the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on.
